Brian Webb – Founding Partner

Brian developed a thirst for firsthand knowledge and primary sources while studying computer science in North Carolina. After a single semester he realized that he was more interested in exploring what information is than he was in how it could be stored and manipulated digitally. He changed his major to philosophy with a focus in logic and cognitive science, which led more or less directly to a career in coffee.

After working on the consuming end of the Specialty coffee supply chain for nearly a decade, Brian once again began to feel the urge to dig deeper. In 2014, he began a position as head of roasting for a Specialty coffee company in Kailua-Kona allowing him to begin building connections with the local coffee producing community that would eventually lead to becoming a founding partner in PCR in 2017.

Brian is an Authorized SCA Trainer in Roasting and has volunteered as an instructor in roasting, sensory, and barista courses at Specialty Coffee Association events since 2010. He has been a member of the planning committee for the Hawaii Coffee Association’s presence at SCA Expo since 2016, and has served as Chair of the HCA Statewide Cupping Competition since 2018.

Brian is currently working primarily with PCR’s clients on the U.S. Mainland and is available for consulting for cafes and roasters, as well as for SCA Coffee Skills Program roasting courses, and other educational projects anywhere in the U.S. or abroad.
