DESCRIPTION:This two-hour latte art workshop introduces you to the steaming mechanics of an espresso machine. Students will learn about basic milk chemistry to better understand how steam, aeration & temperature effect milk texture. We will demonstrate proper technique to produce velvety, creamy, micro-foamy milk each and every time. Students will understand the different milk-based beverages commonly ordered in cafes.\nThroughout the class, each student will have the chance to practice steaming and pouring milk beverages several times. We will begin with whole cow’s milk and, if time permits, will introduce alternative mylks to demonstrate how they vary in steaming technique. We will provide recommendations for brands and mylks that steam best and let you know which ones to avoid!\nGet creative & learn to pour hearts, rosettas, tulips and any latte art you come up with! In this workshop, we will also cover proper hygiene and safe use of steam wands – no burns allowed, okay?\nStudents will be pouring into notNeutral ceramics and glassware.\n
