Chiapas, Mexico

High in the misty Sierra Madre de Chiapas, within the protected El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, a remarkable community of women farmers is transforming the story of Mexican coffee. In 2005, six women members of the CESMACH cooperative came together to gain recognition for the work they were already doing — managing their farms, cultivating their crops, and sustaining their families while their husbands worked abroad. What began as a small effort for equity and education has grown into a movement of more than 200 women producers, each leading her own farm and shaping the future of her community.

Through the Café Femenino program, these women receive a premium for their coffee, which they reinvest into local projects — from building vegetable gardens to funding women’s health initiatives that have provided care to hundreds across their region. Their work represents both empowerment and excellence: a commitment to quality farming, environmental stewardship, and shared growth.

Grown organically under the shade of one of the world’s most diverse cloud forests, this washed coffee — a blend of Bourbon, Typica, and Mundo Novo varieties — captures the heart of Chiapas: bright, balanced, and full of character.

This coffee has tasting notes of lemon, milk chocolate, and shortbread.
