Intro to Roasting
Join Pacific Coffee Research for this roasting class on Wednesday, July 26 at 10am! Brit will lead you through the science of coffee roasting in our Intro to Roasting class. This 4-hour roasting class covers introductory elements of cupping, roast theory, and profile development. We will work with and taste a single coffee roasted several different ways and provide hands-on experience with our Mill City North 500-gram roaster. Together, we will analyze the various roasts of this coffee in order to provide basic working knowledge of coffee roasting and how roasting affects a coffee’s flavor profile.
This class includes some tasting exercises for students to become familiar with various roast styles, roast defects, and how small changes to a roast profile can result in noticeable changes in the final cup! No formal cupping training is required
