For those of us who love coffee, but don’t want the big caffeine kick, we have our mellow Moonrise Decaf. This decaf coffee is water-processed at Descamex in Mexico. In this method, green coffee is soaked in a water solution that removes caffeine along with other soluble compounds like flavor elements. The solution is then filtered to remove caffeine, and the remaining liquid—now free of caffeine but rich in flavor compounds—is reintroduced to the coffee, allowing it to reabsorb the flavor. The coffee is then dried and prepared for export.While this coffee is not a dark roast, it does look oilier than our other medium-roasted coffees. This is due to the structural changes incurred through the decaffeination process.

Our Moonrise Decaf is delicious as a filter coffee or espresso beverage.
