ʻĀina Table: Hawaiʻi Coffee Tasting & Pairing
📅 Hosted by Pacific Coffee Research and Merriman’s Waimea – Sunday, September 6 12:30-2 pm
On September 6th, 2026, Merriman’s will host a Hawaiʻi Coffee Tasting and Pairing, an intimate educational experience led alongside Q-Graders from Pacific Coffee Research, certified professionals trained to evaluate coffee using standards used throughout the specialty coffee industry. Guests will taste a curated selection of coffees grown in the islands, guided by people who can explain not just what they are tasting, but why it tastes that way.
The tasting will be paired with dishes crafted by Merriman’s culinary team, each chosen to complement a coffee’s specific flavor profile. Guests will also receive hands-on instruction in pour over brewing, one of the most widely used manual methods among coffee enthusiasts, along with aroma training using a specialized scent kit designed to sharpen the ability to identify a coffee’s aromatic notes. This event reflects Merriman’s commitment to celebrating Hawaiʻi’s culinary and agricultural traditions, offering a way to engage with local coffee culture without traveling across the island. It’s designed for anyone curious about coffee, from longtime enthusiasts to first-time tasters.
Space is limited to 14 guests to preserve the intimate, hands-on nature of the event.
It will run from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the afternoon; $45 per person.
