Across the Islands: Exploring Coffees of Hawai’i

In this hands-on tasting experience, you’ll dive into the world of Hawai’i-grown coffee and discover that there’s so much more to explore beyond Kona.
This 90-minute class is designed for anyone wanting to better understand what makes Hawai’i’s coffee unique, while beginning to refine the sensory skills that help you taste more intentionally. We’ll guide you through four coffees from across the islands; from the Kona and Ka’u districts on the Big Island, across the ‘Alenuihāhā Channel to Maui, all the way to the North Shore of O’ahu – we’ll exploring what each unique region has to offer in the cup.

- Taste four distinct Hawai’i-grown coffees, side by side
- Learn the basics of building sensory skills simply by thinking deliberately about what you taste and smell
- Explore the rich history of coffee in Hawai’i, how the industry has evolved and where it stands today
- Access hands-on sensory learning tools, guided by seasoned coffee sensory professionals
No experience necessary! This class is designed to help you get comfortable tasting coffee more deliberately, and to develop the language to describe what you’re experiencing in each cup. By the end, you’ll have a deeper appreciation for the diversity of Hawai’i’s coffee growing regions and the skills to keep exploring on your own.
