    Join us on Wednesday, March 20th at 1pm for Roasting Fundamentals! In this 2-hour class, we’ll cover the basic principles of coffee roasting including definitions, measuring points, and connecting color and flavor to roasting time and temperature of the roasting environment. This is a thorough introduction to the basic concepts of coffee roasting through lecture and practical sensory application. The day ends with a roast levels tasting.

    We will cover the following topics:

    • Basic components of a drum roaster
    • Roast terminology and definitions
    • Data measuring points
    • Machine Design
    • Connecting color with flavor
    • How to read a roast curve
    • Roast level tasting
