El Tambo, Cauca, Colombia

This coffee from Colombia has been a favorite of ours this season. Coming from the ASMUCAFE Organization (Asociación de Mujeres Agropecuarias de Uribe), this is a women-grown coffee from the El Tambo municipality in Cauca, Colombia. A price premium is added to this coffee, which is used to fund the association’s female empowerment projects.
While this coffee is a washed process, the harvested ripe cherry undergoes a unique fermentation as they are left in the pulpers’ loading hoppers for 14 hours before they are depulped and placed into open fermentation tanks and follow traditional washed practices.
